CALLED TO BE HOLY
Leviticus 11:44-45KJV
For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
The LORD, would mention the importances of who He is unto the children of israel. They were to be separated unto Him in holy living,and it was snowed to them the manner of meats they were to eat. any disobediences would defile them, making them unholy. Several verses when you read the bible indicate the need for holy living.
Since God is holy we the offsprings must see to it that we strive to go in that direction after being delivered from darkness into light , we are no longer controlled by the rulers of darkness but by the law of the Spirit if you will to.
Holiness here is not a choice but it can be a choice when you will not to but that only will separate you from the sheep, if you take it as a command understanding its what set you apart from the world , its in holy living that you can be the salt and light unto the world, it's in the consistency of daily living that you are light and able to run the race and even good health. Through it Christ is proclaimed even without speaking because your works and conversation will be evidently showed to them'
It's on how much you desire to be just as it is on how much you determine to draw near unto God, God has given ,provided man with everything possible for them to be close to Him, but at the same time with that given it's you that decide. If you are willing, the Holy Spirit is willing.The kingdom of God is without limits.
Sometimes we may think that there's lots to do, it's when you are working on your strength, but if you will allow the Holy Spirit, He will guide you slowly and little by little until you come to full perfection. He will convict you to righteousness because some sin may creep in without you knowing, somethings of the world may seem and appear good but behind it its darkness , its only with the Holy Spirit that it is detected and causes you to repentance .
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
